Huchuy Qosqo Trek - Sacred Valley of the incas:

Over two days we will walk in ancient Inca trails, crossing through mountain passes, walking close to beautiful lagoons overlooking some of the most impressive peaks of the Andes to reach this important peaks, though little explored, archaeological center located high in the Sacred Valley. It is ideal for families or people who have little time but want to experience the adventure of camping trip in the Andes.

Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu:

A 110 Km. Northwest of Cusco (4 hours by train) to reach the town of Machu Picchu (Aguas Calientes), where you roam 8 Km. More to the citadel (20 minutes by bus). Machu Picchu is an impressive Inca citadel located on a mountain. His name translated into Spanish means "Old Mountain".

It has also been called "the Lost City of the Incas" because it was a mystery until it was discovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911. The construction of the citadel dates from the fifteenth century and is attributed to the Inca Pachacutec. The archaeological site is divided into two sectors covering about 20 hectares.

The agricultural terraces built on the slopes of the mountains, reaching up to 4 meters high. The urban sector consists of several buildings and squares, among which the Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana or solar observatory, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Main Temple and the Condor Sector.

Also, there is an impressive carved monolithic piece of 3 meters high and 7 meters base, known as the Sacred Rock. Machu Picchu to build blocks of stone extracted from the surrounding areas were used. The finish of the walls has different qualities and techniques. One of the best achieved walls is the central wall of the Main Temple, in which the blocks fit perfectly. The Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary not only invaluable archaeologically, but it is also associated with rich fauna and flora. In 1983 it was declared Cultural and Natural Heritage by UNESCO.

Itinerary Huchuy Qosqo Trek 2days + 1day Machu Picchu

Trekking Day 1: Cusco - Patabamba - Huchuyqosqo

Early morning you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the small village of Patabamba (3800m) where our wranglers and group of lamas and mules are waiting. We load the mules up with our gear and start our walk through the high valleys to Pucamarca reaching our first pass at 4200mtr (13,779ft). Along the way we have fantastic views of the surrounding snow capped mountains and we pass some high mountains lakes. After the lunch we continue our afternoon hike visiting different Inca monuments while passing fine Inca stairs before reaching Huchuy Qosqo where our team will be setting up our tents and preparing our dinner.

Trekking Day 2: Huchuy Qosqo – Chinchero – Aguas Calientes (Machupicchu pueblo)

After a guided visit of the site Huchuy Qosqo we will continue our hike to the small town of Chinchero taking in some breathtaking views and arriving around noon. We then visit a local home for traditional weaving demonstrations where we will also be served lunch. Later in the afternoon, our private transport will drive us to Ollantaytambo, where we will catch the afternoon train to Aguas Calientes. Upon our arrival to Aguas Calientes, we will check into our rooms and have free time for the rest of the night.

Trekking Day 3: Aguas Calientes (Machupicchu pueblo) – trek to Machu Picchu – Cusco

On the third day of the tour, will wake up early and catch the local transport up to Machu Picchu. A walking tour (approximately 2 hours) is given by your guide in Machu Picchu and afterwards you can explore the mysterious city by yourselves. If you still have energy and bought the ticket, you can also climb Huayna Picchu (2,720 m/8,923 ft). It takes 45 minutes to reach the top of Huayna Picchu. Upon returning to Aguas Calientes, you will have one last lunch before coming back to Cusco in the afternoon.

In the event of a cancellation we need to be informed in writing. Cancellation charges plus forfeiture of the non-refundable deposit will be applied as shown below calculated from the day written notification is received by Cusco Native.
